The reader worked fine on my mechanic's LC V8, but not mine. Have all the threads and am still confused.

I don't understand what could be the reason. All lights in my car are working including the cigarette lighter. Plugged in under my Toyota 4Runner and nothing happens. Plugged in under my Toyota Corolla and the red light lit up.
